Ephesians 3:9     

 This “Sanctuary in the City” is a community in which a welcoming spirit prevails so that you are free to explore a personal journey in the Spirit of Christ. Our worship is rooted in the deep historic traditions of our Celtic forbearers and is inspired by the traditional worship styles and music of our three founding denominations; the Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregationalist Churches in Canada. We are also deeply influenced by the worship and witness of our global ecumenical partners.

Our engagement with God’s Word through the New Revised Common Lectionary informs our prayers, music and times of reflection on the Word. Each week we explore a musical dialogue with the traditional reformed protestant repertoire and a variety of musical genres including classical, jazz, spirituals, contemporary, world music rhythms and original arrangements. Our core music resources are Voices United (VU) and its supplement More Voices (MV).
   
At St. Andrew’s we have made a commitment to provide a spiritual space where you will be welcomed, comforted, challenged and renewed.  Within the context of traditional forms of worship and in the midst of the urban core of downtown Toronto we are devoted to worship that is;

The biblical vision of hospitality, a welcoming into God’s love, is the focus and goal of worship at St. Andrew’s. Our worship reflects our deep desire to seek a faithful justice that the prophet Amos cried out for from the edges of his community. Here at St. Andrew’s a spirit of faithful justice prevails and you are invited to explore a personal journey in the Spirit of Christ that embodies the Greek term; DIAKONIA – just service.

Through our worship we open our hearts, renew our spirits, focus our minds and lift our voices to receive the inspiration to live out in real-time God’s prophetic call to covenant justice as laid out before us in the tradition of the Prophets and Jesus the Christ. Our worship calls us into service in the world and to dare to believe in our faithful ability to change unjust circumstances not simply waiting for things to happen by themselves.
