Baptism
In a way, it is the simplest thing:
"Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River."
--Mark 1:9
So, we do it to imitate Jesus, who chose to be baptized.

Jesus told his followers to use baptism as a mark of faith, and the Christian Church has done so ever since. And it is a sign of belonging: an acknowledgment that God calls us to be a community of faith, together.
Funerals
Our purpose for a funeral or memorial service is to offer a respectful celebration of the life of a loved one who has died. It is no contradiction that authentic grief and sorrow will also be present and honoured. In all the most important times of our lives, tears and laughter are mixed-together, and this is as it should be.

The physical space and resources of the St. Andrew's Church shall be used in a manner consistent with the Vision of the Congregation, namely: To be a model for a successful, diverse, inclusive urban congregation.
