Holy Week invites us to walk with Jesus once more through the streets of Jerusalem and relive that ancient story of love and betrayal, intimacy and abandonment, life and death, and the promise of resurrection hope. To enter into that Gospel story, we will gather as a congregation several times this week, and you are warmly invited to gather with us. Each service will offer a unique entry into the week’s profound drama, drawing us deeper into the mystery of the Passion and the Resurrection.
Maundy Thursday | The Upper Room | Dinner at 5pm, Service at 6pm
Maundy Thursday recalls the night Jesus gathered with his disciples, shared a final meal, washed their feet, and gave a new commandment: "Love one another as I have loved you."
This intimate, reflective service will include Communion, handwashing and foot washing, and the gradual stripping of the sanctuary—symbolizing the abandonment Jesus faced before his arrest. (If you feel inclined to participate in foot washing, please wear footwear that is easy to slip on and off.)
Good Friday | The Cross and the Silence | Service at 11am
On Good Friday, we remember the suffering and death of Jesus. This solemn service includes Scripture, prayer, silence, and song. We do not rush to Easter joy—we pause in the shadows to acknowledge pain, injustice, and the mystery of a God whose love bears even the cross.
The Great Vigil of Easter | From Darkness to Light | Service at 7pm
The Easter Vigil is the holiest night of the Christian year. We begin in darkness, kindling a new fire and hearing ancient stories of God's saving love. In time, light and music return as we proclaim the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
This service includes powerful symbolism: fire, water, Word, and Feast—all pointing to the new life we celebrate in Christ.
Easter Sunday | The Day of Resurrection | Service at 11am
Christ is risen! Easter morning is a celebration of joy, hope, and a new creation brought
about in Jesus. With music, proclamation, and community, we rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the good news that God’s love is stronger than even death.
